There is nothing better than waking up on a Friday morning and feeling absolutely grateful, loved and blessed.
The storm is over and the best part about that is that I can proudly say that I am not the same person I was when I walked into the storm. That’s what the storm’s all about. Change is constant and it is important for change to be constant. It’s important to strive for constant growth so that you can become the person that you’ve always dreamed of becoming. It’s important to grow so that you can evolve and become the person that you will need in future, maybe for that job that you wish to one day pursue, for that parent you maybe wish to become, for that perfect wife or husband you wish to become, or maybe even just something as simple as being the daughter or son you’ve always wanted to be just to make your parents, family or even yourself proud. Growing isn’t about having to work hard or changing so that others can benefit. It’s about knowing that you are maturing and understanding more things about this life we have been given so that you can simply be happy.

Everyone wants to be happy and happiness starts with acknowledging the small things. Never underestimate the power of the small things that may seem insignificant in life. Sometimes we struggle to find happiness, because we are only focusing on the things that we want and we then become so consumed by our own desires that we don’t see what we already have. I woke up realising that there are people out there that have physical and mental disabilities, diseases and many other unfortunate illnesses that some might never be able to recover from. Your body is made up of so many different things and ANYTHING can go wrong at any moment. You are healthy, you can think for yourself, you can remember your family, friends and your memories, you can get out of bed, you can walk without a problem, you have a roof over your head, you have a bed to sleep in, you have clothes on your back, you have a family and a mother and/or a father that loves you and a God that loves you more than anything.

There is so much to be grateful and thankful for. Therefore, no one can ever say that they have nothing to be grateful for in their life. We choose what we wish to see. Embrace the beauty in life. It’s time to stop being miserable and to start living a joyful life. There is more to life than being miserable over the things that didn’t go your way. Life isn’t fair. But being miserable about it won’t change a thing. It’s time to embrace the small things too.
